Our History.

These products are made by a flintlock hunter who also has a keen interest in the period of American history (1750 – 1800) when present-day western Pennsylvania, Ohio, Kentucky, and West Virginia was the American frontier. The designs are the result of extensive research to recreate historically accurate 18th century hunting bags and accoutrements that meet the needs of black powder shooters and reenactors.  I enjoy combining my passion for history with creating my products.

Testimonials' product - Dan Moore

"I first met Dave Deter at Cook Forest, Pennsylvania at a French and Indian War reenactment several years ago.  As I looked over his work, we struck up a conversation like we were old friends.  His craftsmanship is not only pleasing to the eye, but functional and durable.  His artistic creativity is also as impressive as it is historically accurate.  Dave created for me a shooting bag with a beautiful beavertail inlay on the front flap to go with my recently built 18th century flintlock rifle.  It makes a great addition to my hunting setup.  He offers a variety of unique products and has a wide variety of offerings.  Along with my hunting bag, I have his flint wallet, small shot pouch and a beautiful custom haversack, all of which look great and are built to withstand a lifetime of heavy use."
